Te ia o te wai
The flow of wai - water, a continuous meandering of water down mountains over land and out to sea. One of the things I love about harakeke is it’s ability to hold water - physically, creatively, spiritually. I am often in awe at raindrops on harakeke which is why I photograph it so much! While the work is lightfast, it is not water fast *harakeke) and will need to be kept dry, especially with no glass.
Size including frame: 213mm x 213mm
Materials: Harakeke seed pod dye on harakeke paper
Frame is untreated pine stained with native. (a deliberate act of reclamation of whenua and honouring rākau Māori)
